Hello I received my Frontier X this week, My Cardiologist had asked me to get something that could record my ECG at home as I am having interesting heart behaviour when I’m on our Recumbent spin bike the issues is intermittent and each time I borrow a machine to do a 72hr heart monitor my heart behaves beautifully and we don’t get to capture the information, so this was my solution however currently the Frontier x is buzzing me when my breathing rate goes above 45, I have several illnesses however I’m sure this breathing rate is to do with my eosinophilic refractory asthma, I’m used to having difficulties breathing the problem is that unless My breaths get above 45 My heart rate hasn’t even begun climbing much for me to capture the odd arrhythmia my heart rate needs to be hitting peak around 155 to 160bpm which is in my peak training range. is it okay as I fully understand my lung complaint to alter the buzzy parameters for the frontier x so I can maybe allow 60 breaths a minute I don’t go light headed I’m used to not being able to breath and I’m used to pushing myself My lung age on the loop test is 82 I’m 48 currently but I’ve been like this since I was a baby the buzzing is rather irritating. please can some one advise as I’m not seeing my respiratory Professor for another 6 months. I will be forwarding ecgs to my cardiology team once we can capture something interesting. sorry for the long winded message thank you for this lovely little gadget I think it will prove very helpful 🙂

    • Hi Diane,
Since you’re looking to hit a target heart rate, perhaps you can set alerts on heart rate instead of breathing rate to achieve your goal. 60 breaths a minute would be a high-intensity effort! Keeping in mind your medical issues it would be best to get clearance from an expert to make sure you’re not pushing yourself too hard.
We’ve had several individuals let us know that the Frontier X has helped them capture elusive ECG changes, do let us know if you find them too!
