  • I had a micra wireless pacemaker put in a few days ago. It has an accelerometer to speed up when the body moves. I went for an easy 4km/hr walk and my HR went up rapidly to 120, the maximum setting for the pacemaker, probably much more than actually physically needed, as I would run 7-8km/hr with a heart rate of 110-115. Any advise gladly appreciated.

  • It would be great if the Frontier would keep track of steps.

    • Dear Julian,

Thank you for reaching out through the Frontier Community!

To answer your query — yes, the Frontier X2 does track steps. You can find this under your activity summary in the app, listed as “Step Cadence.”

Please note that step data is recorded only when GPS is connected and while the ECG is actively recording. Steps are not c…Read More

    • At the moment, we do not support direct data transfer from the Frontier X2 to Strava. However, you can still upload your activities manually by downloading the .fit file for any activity that includes GPS data and then uploading it to Strava.

Please note that the .fit file will only be available for activities recorded with GPS—so ensure GPS is e…Read More

    • The Frontier X2 measures breathing rate using a method known as ECG-Derived Respiration (EDR). This technique leverages the natural correlation between cardiac and pulmonary cycles during normal breathing, identifying individual respiratory cycles by analyzing amplitude peaks within the ECG signal.

It’s important to note that the gold standard…Read More

    • It seems to be doubling my actual breathing rate. 45 breaths per minute?

      • Thanks for your comment! The Frontier X2 measures breathing rate using a method called ECG-Derived Respiration (EDR), which identifies breathing patterns based on changes in the ECG signal. While this allows for compact and continuous measurement, it’s not as precise as a clinical flow meter — the gold standard for measuring breathing rate.

    • Thanks, OP, for asking this question! I’ve been using FX for nearly 4 years and two different models. I’ve always had the same question. I’m a very intentional breather and, aside from an all-out sprint, I am never even 1/2-way to what the app has for my RR. — Thanks, Community Mgr for the details.
