My HRV seems to be very low – about 4ms on average. I am fit and healthy and do mainly cycling – just done 4 hours at 185W output which I think is decent fitness. HR between 62 and 136 for those 4 hours with average of 120. All my stats seem fine except the HRV which seems extremely low. Should I be concerned? Can I do anything about it?

Having to get an Angiogram on Thursday to determine why my heart is failing. They can’t determine what’s causing the EF to be at 35-38% with no structural abnormalities, scarring, or valvular issues.
Hope it can be fixed.

Hi Nick,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Heart Rate Variability is a measure of the variation of time in between each of your heart beats. These variations happen due to the interaction between two parts of your autonomic nervous system – Sympathetic ( Fight or Flight) and the opposing Parasympathetic (Rest and Relax) system.
