  • What exactly is HRV?

    • HRV stands for Heart Rate Variability. You can read more about it here! -https://fourthfrontier.tawk.help/article/understanding-heart-rate-variability

  • Nearly 5 months since my AFIB ablation. Feeling stronger and going longer on runs/bike rides. I had daily episodes of AFIB prior to the surgery, but zero since the procedure in June; life-changing improvement. HR is still low (resting 40 bpm) and still on Dofetilide (Tikosyn)…which i’m hoping explains the low (20-25 ms) HRV.

I’ve noted that I have some
high QTC readings. They are shown on the associated graph with an O. I wore my device overnight whilst sleeping and noted my average QTC to be 442ms. The peak value was 511ms.

  • I am hoping you can tell me whether ectopic beats are excluded from the average value given for HRV? I can see that HRV is higher for me in strips where an ectopic is evident though I do have other occasional high values where I have no ectopics. I think that ectopics are causing me to see a higher score than perhaps expected.

    • Hi Amo, Ectopic beats are not excluded during the calculation of HRV currently. This can result in higher values of HRV in those sessions with ectopic beats.

  • Hi, just got my Frontier X and used it for my Tempo cycle into work. Happy with the data. Is it recommended to wear the device during rest (to possibly get a users baseline metrics) as well or only for exercise sessions?

    Thanks Fidel Gonzalez
