  • My HRV seems to be very low – about 4ms on average. I am fit and healthy and do mainly cycling – just done 4 hours at 185W output which I think is decent fitness. HR between 62 and 136 for those 4 hours with average of 120. All my stats seem fine except the HRV which seems extremely low. Should I be concerned? Can I do anything about it?

      • Hey Nick, I am a cyclist as well and find the same thing. My HRV is low through activitiy. Usually increases when resting or sleep.

    • Hi Nick, apologies if you already know this .. but the way hrv is mathematically calculated means that there is an inverse (but non linear) relationship between HR and HRV – i.e. it’s quite normal for HRV to go down when you exercise and up when you are resting – just on the basis of the fact that your underlying heart rate is higher in teh former…Read More
