What precautions should be taken while exercising in patients who have ASD devices placed in their heart?

Can we just confirm whether the advice is to wear a mask when doing moderate-intensity exercise outdoors? For example, walking in the countryside with only occasional brief encounters with other individuals passing at a safe distance, should you wear a mask? If the answer is yes, please justify for what purpose.

Can someone opine about the pros and cons of HIIT vs LIIT (duration, frequency, etc.), especially in those over 50, like me, and want to optimize heart health vs weight loss?

HIIT stands for high-intensity interval training and I assume LIIT stands for low-intensity interval training. So here is a very simple piece of advice, I would not recommend someone to go straight into HIIT. It’s become a fad these days across a lot of different high-intensity programs. When we look at the research around this, we have to remember that in the research settings, people have been observed very, very closely. And also the people that want to do it have volunteered to do it. So there’s a safety element to determine with the high-intensity training. The other thing is, behaviorally, is it something that people are…Read More

It’s got a picture of Paula Radcliffe running and it’s got a picture of a group of cardiac rehab patients exercising in the…Read More

After treatment of Supraventricular Tachycardia, can a patient exercise normally after the recovery and treatment? What are the precautions that should be taken for patients with SVT? Can this condition recur?
-
Supraventricular Tachycardia is a relatively benign condition. “Supraventricular” means above the ventricles; in other words, Atrial Tachycardia, which is far less dangerous than a Ventricular Tachycardia. In general, if an ablation was done, the person should be fine and the chances of recurrence are not very high.…Read More

ASD which stands for Atrial Septal Defect is what we commonly call as “a hole in the heart”. You have the left side of the heart on the right side and the twain shall never meet normally. But sometimes people are born with a little hole in the heart and the impure and the pureblood mix. Once the ASD is fixed, majorly…Read More
