There is lots of literature showing a correlation between AFib and stroke , but my understanding is that there is no demonstrated causal relationship. There is a relatively recent bmj article that shows that people who have had surgery to resolve AFib have an unchanged chance of stroke.

Apart from the fact that there’s no scientific studies that have showed this, to my knowledge. The reason for stroke risk for afib is that blood can pool in the heart during an episode and if the episode lasts long enough then clotting can occur risking a stroke.
If you fix the afib then that risk “should” go away.
