Does anyone know how to set your maximum heart rate or to set the ranges for the various intensity levels? The system seems like it assumes everyone is the same age with the same parameters.

    • Every individual has unique zones depending on age, fitness and medical conditions. Follow these steps to personalise your HR zones:

Step 1: Find your Maximum heart rate(MHR):
This can be done in a laboratory exercise test, a field test like the beep test. In case you have cardiac concerns a submaximal test might be better. A safer but less accurate method is to use a maximum heart rate formula.

      Step 2: Choose your Zones:
Experts suggest different methods to choose your heart rate zones, pick one the complexity that you are comfortable with:

      5 Zone Method:
      Zone 1: Very light, 50 – 60% MHR
      Zone 2: Light, 60 – 70% of MHR
      Zone 3: Moderate, 70 – 80% of MHR
      Zone 4: Hard, 80 – 90% of MHR
      Zone 5: Very hard, 90 – 100% of MHR

      American Heart Association:
      Moderate intensity: 50% – 70% MHR
Vigorous exercise intensity: 70% to about 85% of your maximum heart rate

      American College of Sports Medicine:
Aerobic training: 50-70 percent of MHR
Tempo and threshold runs: 71-85 percent of MHR
      Intervals: >85 percent of MHR

      3. Set Vibration alerts on your Frontier X for the zone you’d like to train in. Here’s a guide on how to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lU70BtxXF4c
