Notice that my Resting HR is around 44 is this normal for a 35 year old male running around 12 miles per week?

If your heart rate is dipping into the low 20’s when you sleep you should see a cardiologist. The most fit cyclist who ride the tour have RHR in the upper to low 30’s and they have incredible fit hearts. I’m not sure if your cardiovascular fitness but those numbers sound like they should be further investigated.

I’ve been running competitively for 45 or so years and have a resting HR in the 40s and sometimes when asleep ir can dip to 38. Im in my 70s now and always thought that bradycardia was a sign of a strong heart. Until I had a stroke and was diagnosed with paroxymal atrial fibrillation. Hence the heart monitor. My cardiologist told me that this is most common amongst the athletic population. He, being an avid tennis player probably in his late 40s also told me that he would almost certainly get AF when much older.

Not normal. But not bad. I’m 42 and have resting of 35 bpm. Sometimes down to 22 when a sleep. NSR at rest is 60-100. There will always be outliers
